Hi Jody Et Al, I do remember visiting the OSSIM Web Pages (http://www.ossim.org/) before, (probably a pointer from this list)... Anyway, I wonder if the next step is to integrate the Grids code... Perhaps a uDIG plug in is a good idea... Integration might be tricky whatever due to error handling, but maybe there is already a neat solution.
Other than for data storage and retireval, the focus of the Grids code I developed is on processing - and usually that which involves iterating through all values and generalising regions (e.g. all cells between specified distances). I'm not aware of progress on GridCoverage. I'd like to follow it, but it probably has a different focus... How would I know? Unfortunately I don't have much time for any of this work right now, although I have a bit... If you have any advice/pointers it will be much appreciated. Thanks to you all, Andy [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.geog.leeds.ac.uk/people/a.turner -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Jody Garnett Sent: 14 July 2006 11:58 To: User-friendly Desktop Internet GIS Cc: simone giannecchini; GeoTools Devel List Subject: [udig-devel] Getting more the GeoTools into uDig... Hi Andy, One of the things I have been trying to accomplish is the integration of additional libraries into uDig beyond the base GeoTools implementations we are working with. While I am excited about the possibilities of working with OSSIM I have not heard of much progress - seemly due to the availability of binary distributions of OSSIM? Would your graph code be suitable for a uDig plug in in the community section, an initial glance through the javadocs shows some bent towards grid processing (either for analysis or display I could not determine). I also wonder if you are following the progress of the GridCoverage geotools branch which is in the process of being merged to trunk. My impression is that great progress has been made on performance, but have not heard of much in the way of processing or analysis.
