JMapPane has been added to the ext/ directory for 2.2.x,  I needed to 
upload geowidgets to the m2 repo to get it to compile (I think I did 
this correctly).

ACuster, you should be able to pick up JMapPane with a maven pom.xml 
now, which will make writing some demo's that display content a bit 
easier. I am afraid I do not know how to use JMapPane myself, but it has 
been a topic of discussion on the user list.

I think this is the last showstopper for GeoTools 2.2, best of luck all.
