I will trust your good judgment on this issue. However, it would be nice, to the extent that we decide to use non-free software, to have a set of criteria why we decided to do so, and what would enable us to move to free software at a later date. For example, a free version of java is coming along nicely and I could imagine within a couple of years that we will have escaped the "java trap". Obviously our criteria for now are "needed to run the library".
