Hi Adrian, hi all.

I am not dead, I am just passive in the moment. ;-)

With respect to GeoWidgets: Since I got a job four months ago I have little
spare time left for programming - and I hope you don't mind that in the
summertime I prefer cycling over hacking... Anyway, this and another
programming priority mean that GeoWidgets is "on ice" currently, as some have
already correctly guessed. I am truely sorry about this, but cannot help it
since I am still the only project member.

Once I might revisit it, I also will have to reconsider several choices I made
for the project:
For one, supporting Swing AND SWT/JFace proved twice the work (not much less at
least), since there is hardly anything common for both. And given that I lately
always use Eclipse RCP and therefore SWT/JFACE...
For another I was never sure if GeoWidgets should be tightly tied to GeoTools
or should support alternative models. (The latter results in more generic
widgets which are more circumstancial to use because of the additional layer of
abstraction, as I realized.)

I hope time will come when I can continue work on GeoWidgets, but you will see
that, complex as GeoTools is, this is not the library to understand and use by
just looking at it half an hour on some days.
(Under these circumstances I reduced my work to just keeping the German uDig
translation up to date.)

Just felt you should know this when talking about JMapPane etc. - no need to
start a big rant about the topic, imho.
