A few changes on the 2.2.x branch need to be ported to 2.3.x and trunk.
On 2.2.x, these include
r21556: SQLEncoderPostgis cleanup
r21555: encapsulated postgis version determination; exposed ConnectionPool;
reverted createSchema tableName case override
r21554: improved postgis fixtures/tests utility
note: the "reverted createSchema tableName case override" was also done by
justin on trunk shortly after the commit on 2.2.x
