FYI, oid is incremented globally across the database any time *anything* happens, so wrapping 2billion is not *that* rare for a database with reasonably activity levels and longevity.
Also, since oid is deprecated in the PgSQL 8+ series, I hope it is a third-or-fourth option in the quest for a FID, because increasingly, it just won't be there. P.
