Heh... well, imagine a full set of ifs jumping around in the code.
"Is this feature type versioned? If so, do this, otherwise, do that" (it
may well just be a change in the filters, but nevertheless, it's 
something we cannot avoid).

I can definitely become mantainer of the versioned version as long as
it's experimental, and co-maintain it if it comes to replace the
postgis datastore.
