Filled a new JIRA issue for maven-eclipse-plugin:

When maven-eclipse-plugin version 2.4 will be out, we may reconsider if we
should rely on the MECLIPSE-189 as an acceptable temporary workaround (until
MECLIPSE-251 is fixed if they fix it), or keep the "gt2-" prefix for a longer
time.
