I'm not sure which GIS widget you are talking about. They were a separated
widget project, but I have no idea where the project is today. Geotools provides
a few Swing widgets which are stables (gt2-gui-swing or something like that),
but there is nothing new there for a while because of lack of volunter time.
There is a separated JMapPane in a separated module, but I don't know what is
its current state.
