Note that the Maven2 plugin for Eclipse has a tendency to do this, e.g.
when adding a dependency to the pom, it reformats it (also has a
tendency to re-order stuff) and all comments *and* attributes are lost.

Maybe warn GeoTools developers to refrain from doing this while that
specific bug remains unsolved?
