Hi Rob,

I just ypdatd GEOT-1191 with my current status. Basically the old feature model is now extending the new.
OK, so is there a synopsis of how to exploit the new feature model? Whilst I know most of the theory, I'm sure I'm not alone in not knowing exactly what is being implemented where and how far the implementation goes.

Eg - there is an implementation of org.opengis.feature available? - ie the DefaultFeature etc implements org.opengis.feature because it implements the extension.

So, if I pass a complex schema to gt2-xml it will return a org.opengis.feature that properly expresses the feature type? Or will it simply fail to build complex attributes - i.e. the actual FM only exists in the interface, not any implementation? There is quite a lot of plumbing here by the time it gets through to Geoserver - does your implementation mean we can pass a complex feature into the existing WMS rendeering pipeline for example?
If you wanted to help out .. any sort of testing would be great. If you have any online tests in your geometryless module... runnign those and making sure they all pass would be great.
I've updated geometryless and committed changes with all tests working - mainly stitching in the connection pool stuff - seemed to be only one change that Attribute.getName returns a Name not a String now. Not sure what this is testing other than a regression test that nothing has been broken.

hi Justin,

whats the current status of this? What can I do to assist?

FYI I need to rebuild the community-ds around whatever implementation is done. Gabriel got it working against the DataAccess interfaces, which were subsequently pulled...

Whats the current thinking on http://docs.codehaus.org/display/GEOTOOLS/Data+Access+API+for+ISO+Coverage+and+ISO+Feature ? with regards to this task?

What is the overlap between the planned work and the gt2-fm module created - are you planning to use this or re-implement something equivalent?
