I think this one is going to take a few more attempts. In particular it is not worth doing again until the GeoAPI interfaces have been accounted for (since uDig works with the normal Java 5 geoapi jar).
I was chatting about this with Paul and Jesse. We are aware the work is needed - but right now we expect Justin will be doing this when it lines up with his project schedule?
