Have DefaultAttributeType use converter support

DefaultAttributeType does not try any type of conversion when validating and
parsing a value.
Given that we have the Converter abilities around, it should try to convert the
value to the
specified class instead.
This would save us the need of a BooleanAttributeType to handle booleans for
example.
Can anybody provide some feedback on this one? I will commit the change early
next week otherwise.
