Just to add one more note, my motivation was driven by the fact the JAXB 2.0 is
bundled in Java 6. Hibernate is not at this stage, but it seems to me (if my
memory serve me right) that there is a JSR for standardization of Hibernate-like
annotations, which could be bundled in a future Java release (Java 7?). If this
thing hapen, I would be in favor of using those annotations as well. In the main
time, my current approach is "wait and see" on Hibernate annotations...
