I have implemented org.geotools.util.Range and made NumberRange make use of this base class (rather than extend a JAI class as in previous iterations of GeoTools). - http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/GEOT-746
This was the last peice needed to make a standalone referencing download for OpenJUMP. So my next question is how can we bundle up a copy of metadata and referencing that does not depend on JAI? Could we make a separate download artifact... I had in mind an artifact including the following modules: - geoapi - metadata - referencing - epsg-hsql Additional ideas to explore: - If someone was feeling really smart they could unpack those jars and just include the API that was needful. - I imagine the JTS utility class (that transforms a JTS geometry) would also need to be included; although Martin has resisted including it in "referencing" since JTS is not actually needed by the coordinate transformation code.
