I think you will find this the subject of a proposal Gabriel put 
together (un related to the earlier data acess proposal that was 
scrapped; you may remember the discussion it had to do with how to 
parameterize the types for DataStore?

I was waiting to see the user guide pages modified before evaluating the 
work. Gabriel?
