We have a documented Hints.FEATURE_TYPE_FACTORY right now ... we need another
one for FEATURE_FACTORY so that we can actually leverage the new feature model.
The initial motivation is to allow the use of an Array based Feature
implementation on a case by case basis; other ideas involve being able to subst
a "strict" implementation that validates attributes as they are added.
