It was a few years when I implemented that, so we would need to try again to be 
sure. I believe that the issue was about resampling a new image where the 
destination is expected to have a given "gridToCRS" transform, which is okay 
only if the image get exactly the size we expected when we computed that 
"gridToCRS". Having an image one pixel bigger than expected means a shift of 10 
km in raster where pixel are that size (the Ocean data I was working on).
