As by flux here he means that whilst the filter interfaces have been adapted to SE 1.1, the streaming renderer does not use any of the SE 1.1 capabilities. The only renderer using SE 1.1 extras is the Geomatys one, but the source code of it is nowhere to be found. The streaming one can certainly be adapted to use SE 1.1, but atm no one stepped up to do the work or sponsor it.
