Jody, If this still stands and I am allow to commit directly to the module can I get commit access for this? I've set up the OSGeo username "egouge". Let me know if there is something else I need to do.
So far, I've fixed up the code so that it builds and the valid test cases run. I've also added a few more test cases and fixed some other bugs.
