Adrian and Andrea may be winding down their conversation on the subject of the PSC; but there is one aspect of Adrian's message that still captures my imagination. That of examination of my position and why I have the time and interest to lead both the project and the community.
In short: - I do not have any programming responsibilities at my current job; I can justify my involvement in the library in terms of open source outreach (particularly on the user list) - I have improvements I would like to make to the library for its own sake (not related to uDig or GeoServer or any other project) This is more why I want to be involved with GeoTools; I do not need to be a member of the steering committee to accomplish these goals. Indeed it may be more helpful if I focus on coding.
