Apologies to anyone who was holding their breath on this one; it's taken
me this long to look into the issue again.  What I found was that GeoAPI
still wasn't updating with just a 'cd geotools; mvn install' so I
grabbed GeoAPI from svn and built a patch against that.  I have updated
the ticket with a patch for GT2.5.x that includes stubs for some other
factory methods added in the interim.  I don't currently have a checkout
of trunk, but will verify my changes apply there and update the ticket
if needed sometime soon.
