Andrea, should we edit the wiki page directly ?. As an example, I agreed with David Adler on the new db2-ng module, so there will certainly be not further development and no support for the old db2 module. We can and should remove it or move it for some time to unsupported and remove it in the near future.
Concerning the modules with no maintainer. Is there a priority for some modules to get a new maintainer. I think about the fact that Martin leaves geotools. Andrea Aime writes: > Hi all, > I've created a wiki page to organise the module > maintainerships reassignment and cleanup, here is it: > http://docs.codehaus.org/display/GEOTOOLS/Modules+cleanup > > Ideally, I would like to find a maintainer for each module, > and at least an expression of interest for unsupported > modules by someone (as in, "yeah, I might be maintaining > that stuff in six months from now"). > Whatever is not covered, I would suggest to just remove > from the codebase, so that we get a leaner one. > > Removed modules are not deleted from the face of history > anyways, they will still be part of the svn history > and if anyone is interested in picking them up, well, > it should be easy to just check them out from a branch. > > And oh, I would suggest to make the cleanups/module > removals on trunk only, but I can be persuaded otherwise. > > Cheers > Andrea > > -- > Andrea Aime > OpenGeo - http://opengeo.org > Expert service straight from the developers. > > ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ > The NEW KODAK i700 Series Scanners deliver under ANY circumstances!
