Does this method get used much in GeoServer or elsewhere ? The reason that I ask is that I'm doing a little more on the MapWidget / JMapPane code (on the branch) and I'm trying to decide if it's worth going through this method and have objects associated with the map pane (such as a status bar) listen for MapBoundsEvents, or whether to just have a more direct relationship between the map pane and its friends.
