Hi Daniele:

Two things:
1) I am stupid and found the issue - the udig refresh.xml script had
hard coded a version of imageio-ext to download rather than trusting
dependency management - I have fixed this and isolated imageio-ext
version number to the geotools root pom.xml

2) The windows installer placed dll files into the jdk/bin directory;
rather than the jdk/jre/bin - this prevents me using the jdk as a
target from eclipse (as it will not pick up what is needed). The
imageio and jai installers would place the dlls into jdk/jre/bin

I could not manage to control the windows installer using the
JAVA_HOME env varibale or using the registery. With my luck it is
probably a JDK home variable or something...

Thanks for checking.

I tried reverting to 1.0.2; but I no longer have maven-2.0.9 around
and could not get the ant based maven targets to install jars into my
JDK.

My checkout of imageio-ext was showing 1.1-SNAPSHOT - in order to
generate 1.0.2 I was trying to rollback my checkout to the 1.0.2 tag.

Thanks; I have updated the udig instructions (which were pointing to ).

I think I am good..

I noticed another glitch when running your windows installer were - a
second copy the Microsoft C runtime library:
- msvcp71.dll
- msvcr71.dll
