Right, we need to have the dev guide be actually read and used. Which brings me to Sphinx ;-) I'm looking into ways to convert the existing docs into rst semi-automatically thought, at least enough to leave the author to just do finishing touches instead of a painful "copy and add all the missing tags" approach.
