Is it needed for a demo? it is needed by udig and afaik geoserver ships with it too. The thing is the 1.0 wfs client is practically the same since gt 2.2. The module is on unsupported until porting 1.0 to the same xml tech and than 1.1 and its new design. If not asking for too much I would prefer it to keep being part of the build then, or find it another location meaning "supported, but not yet up to the standards..."
