Tried out maven 3 for a lark today (I have been actually following the
development and design changes on a couple blog sites - mostly with
respect to the IDE maven integration story which is driving maven 3).
I am expecting maven 3 to stop copying files around on the hard drive
so much and make better use of threads...

Trying out the most recent download turns up a couple of problems for
geotools...

C:\java\geotools\trunk>mvn clean
[INFO] Scanning for projects...
[ERROR] The build could not read 2 projects -> [Help 1]
[ERROR]   The project org.geotools:gt-jdbc:2.7-SNAPSHOT
(C:\java\geotools\trunk\modules\library\jdbc \pom.xml) has 1 error
[ERROR]     'dependencies.dependency.(groupId:artifactId:type:classifier)'
must be unique: commons-dbcp:commons-dbcp:jar -> duplicate declaration
of version (?)
[ERROR]   The project org.geotools:gt-imagemosaic-jdbc:2.7-SNAPSHOT
(C:\java\geotools\trunk\modules\plugin\imagemosaic-jdbc\pom.xml) has 1
error
[ERROR]     'dependencies.dependency.(groupId:artifactId:type:classifier)'
