Sounds good to me. Btw, just wrapped that code into a GeoServer WPS process (on GS trunk, something that Jody might want to port back to GT once he starts working on that backport), one can get a grid in GML or shapefile or geojson in seconds. I see grids and I think display, primary and secondary lines, but there lies the issue, it would be lines, not cells. I would still call it a grid, yet not the same thing... would it even make sense to adapt the code to build parallels and meridians? Afaik at the core of the grid there is the idea of a cell, not of a set of lines. So if someone made a grid generator for visualization purposes, it would have to be located somewhere else, right? Even if it's more than just decorations, I would like to be able to style them with SLD and query them for their attributes, display their value as labels, they would not fit in that module naturally.
