You aren't wrong, the major projects are all ending so you won't see quite as
much activity as before though we've no intention of leaving this all cold
turkey.

We've confirmed funding for a couple of years for a couple of people to
maintain the AuScope portal and associated stack - which includes Geoserver.
I'm hopeful we can stretch "maintain" to mean, "perfect some parts and track
changes in standards". I'm also helpful the interest and code base will
continue to grow and might eventually not have sole reliance (and we seem to be
heading that way).

Ben will be working on another project with me but we'll still be part of the
same group working closely together, albeit somewhat smaller and spread out
over projects. I've also little doubt many of the team will want to continue to
contribute in their "spare" time regardless of what projects they are working
on.

Regards,

Rob
PS since I don't haunt this list as a contributor very often, as a reminder,
I'm Ben's boss (and Niel's, and Rini's....) in CSIRO and responsible for the
projects that allow us to contribute to Geoserver.

Just one question: who is going to maintain it? Same people that currently do?
I was under the impression that your project is nearing end and at the project
end you would be pulled off to other tasks... maybe I'm wrong.

Can you shed some light on the near future of the module mantainership wise?

Cheers
