Nothing against a patch; it would be better if it was enabled with a hint.
Can you confirm that you have tried the existing facilities to work around
classpath issues?
As the "effort to replace spi" is not funded I would take part if you want to
see it succeed a timely fashion. It has been unfunded for a good five years now
and the problem is still with us :-)
