Thanks for the info Andrea. Actually the case I was running up against was
just a single geotiff layer.
I do have a configuration and jmeter test plan that can easily replicate the
error. But before I waste anyones time looking into it I should verify that
the problem persists on the latest 2.7.x. I will also see if I can replicate
it on the trunk too for good measure. If I can i will create an issue with
all the relevant resources.
