GeoSolutions is pleased to announce the ImageI/O-Ext 1.1.0 release.
Changes with respect to 1.0.x series can be summarised as follows:
- *Out-of-the-box* Support for GDAL <http://www.gdal.org/>
1.7.3<http://java.net/projects/imageio-ext/downloads/directory/Releases/Dependencies/GDAL/NativeLibraries/1.7.3>,
which means no more patches are needed for GDAL Java bindings in order to
access it from ImageI/O-Ext.
- *BigTiff* <http://www.awaresystems.be/imaging/tiff/bigtiff.html>support,
breaking the 4GB TIFF limit.
- *EnhancedImageReadParam *support. It extends the standard
ImageReadParam<http://download.oracle.com/javase/6/docs/api/javax/imageio/ImageReadParam.html>by
implementing Cloneable (used when supporting
*MultiThreading *read operation) and a new *DestinationRegion* param to
support oversampling/subsampling without specifying
sourceSubSampling<http://download.oracle.com/javase/6/docs/api/javax/imageio/IIOParam.html#setSourceSubsampling%28int,%20int,%20int,%20int%29>parameters.
This may be used when dealing with readers which internally take
care of performing subSampling/overSampling, such as the *GDALImageReader
*
- Experimental multidimension plugin for reading spatiotemporal sources
like:
- netCDF raster files following the Climate and Forecast
(CF<http://bit.ly/RugiU>)
convention
- GriB edition 1 <http://bit.ly/ik1f2e>
- HDF version 4
Finally, with respect to 1.1-RC1 version, Release 1.1.0 also adds support
for BSB and CADRG RPFTOC plugin (through GDAL) .
Release artifacts have been deployed on the GeoSolutions maven
repository<http://maven.geo-solutions.it/it/geosolutions/imageio-ext/>,
as well as on the
OSGEO<http://download.osgeo.org/webdav/geotools/it/geosolutions/imageio-ext/>one.
