Yeah, this could be a winner. With custom styling and our logo,
searchable output, and also the "filter by api level" which also seems
interesting we may get a nice improvement.
(I'm referring to this example of lavadoc output:

I guess the improvement you have in mind would also be of interest
in the general case, it would basically make doclava "maven aware"
