Yes, ideally we would run the jdbc tests continuously or even nightly but
unfortunately this is not that simple as it requires database
infrastructure to be setup. Straight forward in the postgresql case, not so
straight forward in the oracle case.

It is on my sort of long term todo list to get this setup for jdbc land but
other things keep coming up as priority. And as you noticed the unfortunate
end result of this is that tests start to go stale. I ran the oracle tests
myself the other day and noticed failures.

I am working (or more i was working) with our sysadmin on getting a
dedicated db server stood up and on it install the databases that are
easily and freely installable on linux which would mean postgresql, mysql,
and oracle. Ideally other folks in the community that have access to other
database software like sql server and db2 could maybe stand up build
servers to do the same job for those databases...
