For some reason I could not assign this issue to you to review :(

I did a couple quick checks resulting in one change. I assume you want this to 
quickly categorize features into groups (example:  16%5=1) allowing you to 
split numbers into five even groups.
However the Java % operator is willing to return negative numbers (-16%5=-1) 
and would not work for that use-case.

The classical "modulo" definition implemented here is always positive (example: 
modulo(-16,5)=1 ).
