Hi folks,

As you know a commit mailing list was setup when we switched to github.

  https://groups.google.com/group/geotools-commits

Currently the way it works is that commits authored by an email that is not
a member of the list will get put in the moderation queue, and me or one of
the authors has to manually go and clear it out approving the message.
Naturally this results in a lot of email for me and the other managers :)

So I would ask that folks that are regular committers please sign up for
this list. If you don't want to receive the email that is fine, you can
simply set delivery to no email in the list delivery options. I plan to
start sending invites to those who are regular committers. If you could
sign up for the list that would be much appreciated.

Now we can't avoid all the moderation since when we accept pull requests
the commits are still authored by the original contributor, who may not be
a regular committer.

An alternative would be to have all messages from a common email address
that doesn't get moderated. I personally like seeing the actual authors
name show up as the sender, but don't really like having to clear out the
moderation queue 5 times a day.

Thoughts?
