Hi,
after setting up the Windows build server I realized I had my old notebook
sitting doing nothing on a shelve so I've setup to make it a OpenJDK 7
build server.

The machine is now running Linux Mint LMDE (a Debian derivative), in particular
a rolling release that gets updated every now and then with newer software
(a detail that will keep up the fun).

On this machine I've setup Jenkins and made the GeoTools build work fine under
OpenJDK 7, you can see the Jenkins here:
http://aaime.no-ip.org/jenkins/

The build is... hum... frequent: every 5 minutes Jenkins checks the version
control for new commits, and performs a incremental build, meaning only the
modules you touched, and the ones dependent on them, will be rebuilt.

To make things more interesting, and a working OpenJDK 7 more interesting to
the larger community, I've also paired this with a daily full build with Sonar,
whose reports are available here:
http://aaime.no-ip.org/sonar/

The server is still not sending out mails, but should start doing so next week
(to the geotools-extra-builds google groups).

The GeoServer build on OpenJDK 7 is in progress and is proving to be
loads of fun,
just like the Windows one: the GeoServer build seems more affected than the
GeoTools one by the vagaries of the chosen operating system and Java runtime,
and I still haven't solved all the issues there (TreeSet behavior changes, test
run order that is different from normal and so on).
Once I get the build going I'll also setup a Sonar scan for GeoServer.

Ah, as you might have guessed by now Jenkins and Sonar are hosted on
my ADSL connection. To prevent it from being flooded I've installed a front
end Apache with mod_deflate, and another module that controls the bandwidth
so that no more than 40KB/s are served out.
Not much, but as far as I can see once you are past the initial css/js downloads
it should be good enough if you are a bit patient.

Cheers
Andrea
