This breaks the transfer of the viewparams parameter in GeoServer and probably other things that depend on hints. As an example of a manifestation of this bug in GeoServer, applying the PointStacker RT to a VirtualTable backed layer using viewparams to filter out some of the features will cause all of the features to be rendered regardless of the viewparams.
