I'm particularly interested in the rasterizing elements. Do you see these as eventually replacing the existing VectorToRasterProcess ? That class has a list of long-standing issues and needs either a major rewrite or replacement with something better. Originally we had a RasterToVectorProcess in GeoTools. The guts of that were re-written as a more flexible and reliable JAI operation to become Vectorize in the JAITools library... http://jaitools.org/docs/jaitools/stable/apidocs/org/jaitools/media/jai/vectorize/VectorizeDescriptor.html ...which Andrea then wrapped in the GeoTools PolygonExtractionProcess for geo-spatial use. My ambition with the sadly neglected VectorToRasterProcess was to follow the same path. You can probably see where this is heading :) Perhaps your rasterizing code could be generalized into a JAI operation for JAITools - what do you think ?
