Hmm... I guess a fix in the referencing subsystem could be required, or
else, check if we really really need that inverse
(afaik it's used to determine the decimation distance, which is just an
optimization.. for code that is not able to
support the 2d hint not sure if it's going to be such a loss, given that we
are already cloning all the geometries
to drop the 3rd ordinate).
