It would be very helpful if you could add the following two ignores to .gitignore:

nb-configuration.xml
.~

I use Netbeans. The first one is a Netbeans configuration file that is possibly created for each opened maven module.

For instance jEdit generates backup files by adding a ~ character at the end.
