Issue Type: Improvement Improvement
Affects Versions: 10-beta
Assignee: Daniele Romagnoli
Components: imagemosaic plugin
Created: 07/Mar/13 3:51 AM
Description:

Right now, dimensions like "time" and "elevation" only support single values. As an instance, a Granule Gr0 is referred to time = T0 (a single value timestamp) and Elevation = Z0.
However there are cases, like satellite acquisition or meteorological-oceanographic models, where a Granule domain is defined inside a Temporal/Vertical extent.

As an instance:
When dealing with satellite acquistion we may have a Granule G1 which refers to data acquired in the time range [startTime, endTime];
When dealing with a meteorological model we may have a Granule AirTemp which refers to data in the elevation range [minElev, maxElev].
Similarly, when dealing with an oceanographic model we may have a Granule WaterTemp which refers to data in the depth range [minDepth, maxDepth].

The same may be applied to any custom dimensions (WaveLenght, frequency, ...)

Therefore we need to add support for dimensions defined by 2 attributes: something like (begin,end); (min,max); (low,high); ...
