Hi,
I need to add a new functionality to the rendering engine that allows to
add spaces around the symbols in a graphic fill.

The need for spaces in graphic fill is easy to understand, it allows to
control the density of the fill.
However, in this case I also need to be able to control the relative
positioning of multiple symbols being used for fills, in order to get a
specific relative positioning between them, plus eventual space.
See an example here, where 4 symbols are used for the fill, and depending
on the area being filled some of them change (same relative position,
different symbol):
http://jira.codehaus.org/secure/attachment/63217/should.png

In order to achieve this I want to use the graphic-margin vendor option
already available for label shields, which works like a CSS margin,
allowing to specify one, two, three or four margin values depending on the
needs, see the shorthand syntax here:
http://www.w3schools.com/css/css_margin.asp

As said, the parsing and key name are already there, I would just like to
use them inside PolygonSymbolizer instead of being limited to
TextSymbolizer like today

Any concern?

Cheers
Andrea
