Just wanted to bring to your attention a proposal to open-source
GeoMesa, a spatio-temporal index capability built on top of the
Accumulo distributed database. We have implemented many of the
relevant Geotools interfaces to enable access to the index and data
via standard APIs as well as WFS and WMS plugins for Geoserver to
provide HTTP access to the data.
