I am a bit in shock, but it looks like I have the thumbs up for GeoTools
9.0-M1 release. Basically the IP review with LocationTech is complete for
GeoTools.
Note only the subset of GeoTools that is uesd by uDig was reviewed, and
there are still many dependencies to be contacted and reviewed. But
GeoTools is by far the largest stepping stone.
I have things in shape on github here:
- https://github.com/geotools/geotools/tree/9.0-M1
I will do a manual release process, only deploying to maven as this *is* a
milestone release. And will submit a pull request to perform similar fixes
to master.
And thanks to any leaders of GeoTools dependencies who will be (or have
already been) contacted.
*So how did we do?*
We kind of nailed it, a big thanks to all those who helped dig into the
past and sort out where the code comes from.
And shout out to Brett Walker and our github pull request policy (ie
looking into the future and sorting out where our code will come from). I
get the impression this is a real gap for a lot of github projects.
The only area where we could do a bit better is with the EMF generated code
which currently says:
<copyright>
</copyright>
It would be nice to configure EMF to fill this in next time we generate
stuff. As an example for CSW I ended up with:
/**
