While working on footprints we worked on some methods which may be added to JTS Utility to improve footprint management:
remove-collinear vertices: in order to minimize the number of points along a segment made of collinear points
Forcing Polygon validity: in order to check and make sure to return a valid polygon.
Fix Versions: 11-beta, 10.1
