Hi,
a few months ago Simone asked the community about the windows build box,
checking
for an agreement to have it eventually become an official build box, before
spending
time to set it up.
Well, we have had that build box for a while now, and GeoTools has been
building fine on
it for a while.
So, I would like to propose to make it an official build box. Official
means:
* it sends a mail notification to the mailing list when the build is broken
* people breaking the build should try to fix it
* we don't release if the build is currently broken on said build box
For those that do not have a Windows machine handy, most of the time the
build breaks
because some file was left open and cannot be deleted at a later stage in
the tests.
Anothe factor is that the build on said box can run tests in different
order: I hoped
this one could be "cured" using the same solution adopted for GeoServer,
that is,
making JUnit follow a fixed order for tests, however, given that many tests
are still
written in junit 3 style, not sure if that will work or not... we could try?
Anyways, let me know if this poses problems. If I don't hear back negative
comments
I'll prepare a formal proposal later in the week
Cheers
Andrea
