GeoTiffMetadata2CRSAdapter does not recognize ProjStraightVertPoleLongGeoKey when reading Geotiffs. It is used by gdal_translate when adding a SRS to a Geotiff to represent "central_meridian" of a Polar Stereographic projection (see attached npol.wkt, which I attached to an image using gdal_translate -a_srs npol.wkt -a_ullr -3774815.726635 -1823604.346284 2983576.762162 -6892398.910045 foo.png foo.tif).

I'm not sure whether this is standard usage or not, but the description of ProjStraightVertPoleLongGeoKey in GeoTiffPCSCodes seems like it might be.
