Hi,
yes, there are the two mosaicking readers having that logic, but both of
them
are hugely complex for what you're trying to do, I guess there is very
little
code you can directly salvage from them.
In your case I'd make a reader that exposes and handles the preferred grid
geometry
and overview selection parameters (which mosaic exposes for example) in
order
to choose which tiles and zoom levels to pick.
>From there on you have to read the tiles, translate them in order to have
them share
the same raster space, mosaic, and crop (scaling will be handled by the
code out
of the reader, you're not require to honour the requested scale factor
exactly).
If you have no clue you can start reviewing the code in the two existing
mosaics,
but as said, there is a good chance of getting lost in the many extra
features they
have, that you don't need.
